Tandoori Chicken Tikka - cooked without Tandoor
OK you do not have a Tandoor, nor do I have one. My husband does not want to buy one. So I came up with this method of cooking Tandoori Chicken at home. You will love it. The chicken comes out moist and juicy. Enjoy
Preparation Time: 45 minutes
Cooking Time: 50 minutes
Serving: 4 Persons
Ingredients
Chicken Leg and thigh pieces 8 pieces skinned
Vegetable oil 2 Table Spoon
Garlic Cloves 6 peeled
Ginger 2 Tablespoon
Cumin ground 2 teasponn
Chili Powder 2 teaspoon
Garam Masala 1 Table spoon
Juice of Lime 2 Limes
Salt 2 teaspoon
Plain yogurt 1 Cup

Method
Take the chicken pieces and sprinkle salt on both sides.  Keep it aside of 30 minutes.  The chicken would leave water.  Drain the water and pat dry with paper towel.

Squeeze juice of lime, cut ginger and garlic into small pieces.  Add ginger, garlic, vegetable oil, cumin powder, chili powder, garam masala to the blender and blend till smooth.  Add yogurt and blend again.  Set aside.

After 30 minutes take the salted chicken and pour the marinade over the chicken, let it rest for another 15 to 20 minutes.

Preheat oven to 325 degress F.  Place the chicken on a wire rack and cook in the oven for 30 minutes.  Take it out and flip.  Cook again for another 15 minutes, you should see wire rack marks.  Now change the temprature to broiler - highest temp.  Put the chicken back on the top shelf of the oven.  Cook for 15 minutes and see, if not cooked flip and cook for another 15 minutes.  Your chicken should be ready.  Enjoy
