Minced Beef - Khare Masale ka Keema
Beef Dishes
This dish uses whole spices. You can make it as spicy as you like. Make sure you buy lean beef otherwise cut down on the oil, as the dish may turn out to be a bit oily. If you notice that simply drain out the oil, the dish will still taste great. Enjoy.
Preparation Time: 15 minutes
Cooking Time: 45 minutes
Serving: 3 to 4 people
Ingredients
Cilantro for garnishing
Cloves 5
Ginger 1 inch cut
Cooking oil 3 table spoon
Onions 1 pound or two big
Garlic Cloves 8
Green Chillies 8
Dried Red Chillies 7
Bay leaf 1
Salt 1 tea spoon
Cinamom stick 1
Cumin seeds Pinch
Black Cardimoms 3
Minced Beef 1.5 pound or 750gms
Method

I prefer washing the minced meat, howver, it is not a requirement you can cook minced meat without washing too.

  • Slice onions either in a food processor or simply by hand
  • Add oil to the pot, add sliced onions, meat, and all spices and start cooking on high heat
  • Cook down all the water that the onions and meat will leave, this would take 20 to 30 minutes.  Keep on stirring well so that nothing sticks to the bottom of the pot
  • When the water is cooked down the oil is seperated that means you are ready for the next step
  • Taste the salt, add as needed
  • Add one table spoon of yogurt and mix it well, add 1/2 cupe of hot water, close the lid and cook it for 10 to 15 minutes if not using a pressure cooker.  If using a pressure cooker wait till the pressure builds, turn the heat to medium and cook for 5 minutes
  • Open the lid, if there is still water left cook it down and the dish is ready to be served
  • Serve hot
