Khichdi cooked in pressure cooker
Rice Dishes
This is an easy way to cook the famous comfort food " KHICHDI". Try it and you will love it.
Preparation Time: 20 Minutes
Cooking Time: 20 Minutes
Serving: 2 Persons
Rice 1/2 Cup soaked
Thoor Daal (Lentil) 1/2 Cup Soaked
Green Chilli 1 thinly chopped
Red dry Chilli 2 to 3 small
Cumin Seeds 1 big pinch
Oil 4 table spoon
salt 1 Teaspoon
Turmeric powder 1/2 Teaspoon
Garlic Paste 1/2 Teaspoon
Water 1 1/2 Cups
Cloves 3 to 4
 Using Pressure Cooker - Fry the green chilli fo a minute in warm oil, add cumin seeds, cloves and red chillies and fry for a minute.  Add Rice and Lentils drained add salt, garlic paste and turmeric at this time and fry the mixture for about two minutes.  

After the mixture oozes oil add 1 1/2 cup of water and cover the pressure cooker with its lid and lock it.  Cook on high heat and wait till the pressure builds.  After two whistles turn off the heat and let the pressure cooker rest and let the pressure release itself.  When the pressure has been released you should be able to open the pressure cooker and your Khichdi is ready.  Enjoy
