Mutton Curry
Mutton or Lamb Dishes
This mutton curry recipe uses few spices but gives you a great taste. Try this simple but delicious dish and your friends would be asking you for the recipe. Yes you can take the credit, as you would have cooked it.
Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 60 minutes
Serving: 3 persons
Ingredients
Mutton or lamb, buy leg piece 1/2 pound cut into medium size pieces
Onion 1 medium size
Ginger paste 1 teaspoon
Garlic paste 1 teaspoon
Yogurt 4 table spoon
Corainder powder 2 teaspoon
Red Chilli powder 1/2 teaspoon
Turmeric '1/4 teaspoon
Salt 1 teaspoon
Cooking oil 4 tables spoon
Green Cardimom 4
Method
  • Thinly slice onions
  • In a pressure cooker heat oil and add onions
  • Fry onions till light brown.  Drain out the onions and set aside, leaving the oil in the pot
  • Add all spices to the oil, fry the spices for a minute or two, add ginger and garlic and continue frying
  • Add 1/4 cup of water and cook down the water till the oil separates and the masala turns grainy turn the heat off
  • Take the fried onions and the yogurt and blend in a blender
  • The mixture would have a light brown color.  If it is too dark expect your dish to be of darker color
  • Turn on the heat add the meat to the pot and fry it for two to three minutes, add the onions and yogurt mix and cook
  • Cook down till the oil separates and once again the masala turns grainy
  • Add one cup of water. close the lid of the pressure cooker, turn on the heat to high and when the pressure builds put it on simmer and let it cook for anothe 40 to 45 minutes
  • The meat should be fully cooked when you open the pressure cooker and the mutton curry is ready
  • Serve hot - enjoy
